Podscan's Podcast Data Service: Defining Coverage, Fields and Update Times

Podscan documents different coverage tiers and fields affected by completeness and processing status. We study how AI data services define delivery through show scope, updates and absent results, without treating database scale as complete coverage or guaranteed discovery.

Service scope lives in delivery conditions

Podscan describes feeds containing episodes, transcripts and analysis with different show-coverage tiers. Field availability depends on information completeness and processing. We studied vendor documentation without calling the API or verifying the full database.

For a small monitoring provider, bulk data, recurring updates and manually selected leads are different services. Define the deliverable before automation and pricing; database size alone is insufficient.

List the shows the client cares about

Our independent design example begins with a brand monitoring product discussions. Specify language, geography, show types, named shows and observation period, distinguishing included, unresolved and uncovered areas.

A vendor's complete tier still refers to its tracked scope, not the whole internet. Correct keywords cannot retrieve an absent show. State this limit upfront rather than only when challenged.

Make each hit traceable to an episode

Link leads to episodes, dates, relevant segments and sources. AI can suggest themes and summaries, but matching names, brand aliases and transcription errors need review. Retain relevance reasoning and unresolved items. This is not a description of undisclosed Podscan implementation.

A term may be both a brand and an ordinary word, inflating counts without context. Compare clearly defined simulated examples with authorized real material. Deliver leads with stated criteria, not unreviewed conclusions about attention.

Publication, processing and delivery are different times

Published shows may still await collection, transcription, analysis or transmission. Record publication, acquisition and delivery times separately. Mark leads needing rechecking after transcript updates to avoid retaining outdated summaries.

Distinguish missing, pending and inapplicable fields. Unknown is not zero, and no detection does not mean never occurred. Without coverage and status evidence, offer bounded observation rather than complete real-time monitoring.

Human work remains after the feed arrives

Track subscriptions, reception, storage, analysis, review and reporting separately. Extra languages, shows or history can affect several stages. Measure a small task's real consumption before scaling rather than extrapolating from one inference cost.

Check third-party terms and permitted display and uses. Search access does not authorize redistribution of full audio or transcripts. We determine no specific rights and treat neither prices, audience estimates nor promotional scale as earnings evidence.

Sources and editorial notes

AI-assisted research, checking and writing. The Chinese research reviewed complete relevant sections of Podscan Firehose documentation covering overview, coverage tiers, feeds, configuration and field completeness, without logging in, subscribing or calling the API. Coverage tables, checking methods and simulated client needs are our original work, not vendor contracts. Staffing and operating results remain unverified; this is neither an OPC-eligibility judgment nor a procurement recommendation.
