iSoftStone's FDE Organization: Connecting Field Delivery with Platform Support

iSoftStone’s semi-annual report includes FDE frontline, platform and computing power in the same delivery system. This article focuses on the analysis of who receives customer issues, who fixes platform defects, and who maintains them after they go online. It gives small teams a list of collaborations that can be discussed. It does not regard the staff size, contract signing, or planning of large enterprises as directly replicable business results.

Source timingThe reporting period is from January to June 2026; this time I read the original disclosure of the 2026 semi-annual report; the data is verified on 2026-10-18.

The frontline and support relationship in the semi-annual report

"Scenario Intelligence" on page 22 of iSoftStone's 2026 semi-annual report introduces the customer engineering center, as well as the relationship between frontline FDE, platform and model computing power. The article involves organizational methods for implementing industry rules into intelligent applications. ChinaOPC uses company disclosures as a starting point for its research and does not independently audit its client results or equate contract value with realized revenue.

For service teams of 10 people or less, it is worth studying how responsibilities are connected, rather than replicating the number of departments in large companies. Just because someone is working at the customer site does not mean that this person can independently modify all platform or supplier services; the presence of a support team on the platform does not mean that customer site issues will be automatically handled.

How should a problem flow?

The following uses the interface failure of the enterprise's internal data application as a simulation problem. Frontline personnel first record the time of occurrence, version, affected tasks, and permitted error information to determine whether it is caused by customer configuration, platform programs, external services, or data conditions. If you are still unsure, you can list the reasons that have been ruled out and what evidence is needed for the next step.

Then submit the matters that require platform assistance to the clear recipient, and agree on how to provide feedback on the progress, how to confirm the repair version, and who will notify the customer. When there is no complete log, it is not appropriate to declare that the problem has disappeared based on one successful retry; the recurrence conditions and verification methods should be retained.

Accept the three deliverables separately

  • Customer configuration: data mapping, business rules and interface settings, recording the actual scope of application.
  • Platform capabilities: program fixes, shared interfaces and permissions functions, compatibility and version records.
  • Operation services: hosting, model calling and manual support, recording service entities and cost responsibilities.

This division is a collaboration tool proposed by ChinaOPC and is not a formal organizational system in corporate reports. If one person assumes multiple roles, his/her processing status can be stated separately in the same record; the parts involving customer authorization and business acceptance should still be confirmed by the customer's authorized personnel.

Maintenance arrangements cannot be hidden behind project acceptance

Before the trial run, explain the service period, problem entry points, emergency stop methods, alternative arrangements in the event of external supplier failure, and what can be handed over after the end of the contract. Customers should know who holds the account, who can restore service, and what fees they need to continue to pay. They cannot wait for the external engineer to leave before they first encounter these issues.

When reusing experience, you can accumulate troubleshooting steps, test structures, and common components. Customer raw data, undisclosed business rules and proprietary materials shall be processed as authorized. Whether an industry template is suitable for the next customer still requires re-confirmation of the data structure and business boundaries.

The report contains different business lines and subsequent development arrangements, and the entire company's income cannot be recorded as FDE's operating results. This article does not constitute a recommendation for investment or purchase. A small team can first verify whether it can catch, fix and resolve a problem before deciding whether to expand the scope of services.
