Go online and take over need to be confirmed separately
When AWS publicly introduced FDE, it mentioned the operation manuals, architecture documents and internal capabilities required by customers to take over. This provides a starting point for research: the project can be demonstrated and the customer can continue to operate, which are results that need to be observed separately. The following acceptance and billing framework is ChinaOPC’s original proposal and is not a contractual provision of AWS or other vendors.
FDE here is a way for engineers to build and deploy around the real processes of the enterprise. It is not a set of software that is delivered as soon as it is installed. The data, actions and responsibilities for docking different projects are different, and acceptance should go back to the actual agreement between the two parties.
Use representative tasks instead of single demonstration acceptance
First divide the target tasks into three groups: normal, borderline and abnormal, and write down which approved samples are used in each group, how to judge passing, and which results require manual confirmation. Test records should correspond to an explicit version to avoid using new configurations when demonstrating and still referencing old records when signing.
For example, internal data Q&A can check the answer basis, data expiration, and processing when the basis cannot be found; when writing to the business system, permissions, confirmation steps, repeated requests, and failure recovery must be separately checked. These are task design suggestions and do not mean that a certain product already has these capabilities.
Schedule a customer-led takeover exercise
You can ask designated personnel within the customer to complete agreed operations such as viewing configurations, locating errors, pausing automatic tasks, and restoring the previous version according to the document. The external engineer records the stuck link, completes the explanation, and then reviews whether it can be completed within the approved authority. The drill environment, data and operational boundaries must be determined in advance, and real production tasks should not be directly used for trial and error.
- Delivery list: program, configuration, prompt words, data indexing instructions, test and operation manual.
- Permission list: Who holds the account, and how to manage and replace the key.
- List of issues: unresolved limitations, workarounds, and responsibilities.
- Exit list: Which files can be exported, how to return the data or process it as scheduled.
The fee should correspond to the service scope
The three types of investment, namely demand sorting, development and launch, and continuous operation, can be listed separately. The continuous section further distinguishes between model invocation, infrastructure, manual review, maintenance and new requirements. A one-time development fee does not automatically cover unlimited calls and long-term changes, and the unit price of a certain model cannot replace the cost of the entire project.
For small teams, known dependencies and matters to be confirmed should be recorded before quoting; when there is no data volume, interface conditions and acceptance scope, it is appropriate to explain the estimation basis and uncertainty first. This article does not provide guaranteed savings ratios, fixed payback periods, or industry uniform quotes.
