After the First-Order Discount: Validate Why Customers Renew

Transactions during the promotional period show that customers are willing to try it, but it does not necessarily mean that the service at normal prices is established. This article discusses how the OPC team distinguishes experience orders, stable usage and renewal intentions, and records the results of manual investment and actual customer adoption. The article does not directly extrapolate short-term activity income into long-term subscriptions, nor does it recommend relying on vague renewal conditions to create seemingly continuous business growth.

Public coverage of entrepreneurial products and services provides the context for this article’s observations. The following is ChinaOPC’s original operating analysis and does not reportedly estimate the actual retention or revenue of any project.

For the first cooperation, first clarify the corresponding scope of the discount.

Mock up a monthly content offering, describing what materials are included in the trial, the number of revisions and support periods, and how subsequent pricing will be determined. Customers should understand normal conditions before deciding to continue and should not discover changes to the scope of services after expiration.

Check which results are actually used before renewing

Customer downloading, publishing, internal adoption and simply receiving the file are different states. During the return visit, ask about the specific purpose and reasons for not using it, and combine the manual modifications to determine whether the service has truly reduced the burden, not just whether the other party is willing to evaluate it well.

Verify persistence using normal conditions

If people are buying only with big discounts, you should reexamine your target customers, delivery scope or cost structure. A small number of orders can only illustrate the selection in a limited sample and does not mean that it can be replicated on a large scale. This article does not provide revenue forecasts or universal renewal rate standards.
