Multi-Client Knowledge Bases: Retrieval Isolation Requires More than Prompts

Serving multiple customers at the same time, how to keep the boundaries of data ownership, retrieval, caching and export consistent? This article sorts out data links from customer identities and access roles, designs tests using files with the same name, similar issues, and unauthorized requests, reminds to check the actual retrieved fragments, and helps the knowledge base service team deliver verifiable permissions and isolation records.

Customer information needs to be clearly attributed

The official Qdrant multi-tenant documentation discusses how multiple sets of data are organized. Being technically stored in the same system does not mean that business access can be shared; entrepreneurs should first clarify who each piece of information belongs to, who uploaded it, and who is allowed to retrieve it.

Put isolation on data access link

The prompt "Do not disclose other customer information" cannot replace access control. Authentication, retrieval scope, caching, logging, exports and backups should be consistent with customer boundaries. When changing models or front-end interfaces, you cannot skip the original filtering conditions.

The pilot uses fictitious or approved samples to test at least files with the same name, similar issues, unauthorized access and data processing after customer logout. The check should not only look at the final answer, but also check which fragments were actually retrieved to avoid incorrect fragments being exploited in subsequent steps.

Checkable content of the delivery

Provide data ownership tables, access roles, test records, and known limitations. Complex or highly sensitive projects should have people with appropriate capabilities review the overall plan, and do not claim to have completed security certification based on the list in this article.
