First confirm which links the data has entered
After a document enters the knowledge base, it may be split into multiple fragments and vectors may be generated for retrieval; the application may also retain parsed text and historical answers. When withdrawing, you need to first know how these records are related. With only file names but no stable document numbers, it is easy to delete files with the same name by mistake, or miss re-uploading old versions.
What is discussed here is the authorized data retrieval process, not the manipulation of any customer files in this update. For actual projects, the person in charge with authority should clearly clarify the object, scope and reason for withdrawal, and then hand it over to the system for execution.
Interface completion is only one step
Qdrant's official deletion interface supports deleting records by point number or filter conditions, and provides the option to wait for the change to actually occur. It describes the operating mechanism of the vector storage layer and does not automatically represent the original file, application cache and backup are also handled. Specific interface behavior should also be checked with the deployed version.
ChinaOPC recommends listing the number and identification of fragments corresponding to the target document before execution, and confirming that the filtering conditions include both customer and version ranges. After execution, check again whether these identifiers can still be retrieved, and record the actual completion status. When the scope is unclear, stop and confirm first, and do not expand the deletion conditions in exchange for the apparent "cannot be found".
Go through the user’s problem again
In addition to the storage layer check, you can requery using the questions that originally hit the document and observe the source of references and the content of the answers. If old information still appears, you need to continue to distinguish cache hits, another duplicate information, or historical conversation context, rather than directly assuming that the model has re-read the deleted file.
For data that the customer explicitly requests to be suspended, we can first stop it from entering new answers, and then process other copies according to established rules. The backup retention and recovery process should be described separately and allow recovery operations to reapply the recall status to avoid a recovery bringing deactivated content back to the service.
Give the customer a verifiable result
The completion record may state who was processed, when it was performed, the scope of the inspection, what copies are still retained, and their purpose and expiration date. Don't use "completely delete" statements that go beyond the scope of the review. If the customer also requires processing historical output, the specific object needs to be confirmed separately.
