Designing FDE Tool Writes: Models Propose and Business Systems Decide

Once enterprise agents are able to invoke tools, the key is to differentiate between recommendations, approvals, and actual writes. This article discusses how FDE fixes the target object, content version, and authorization conditions to avoid repeated actions caused by recovery or retries. The article refers to suspension and idempotent mechanisms, but does not equate framework capabilities with complete permission management. All formal business writes must still comply with customer rules.

The LangGraph interrupt and Stripe idempotent documents provide technical background respectively. This article is a general tool execution design and does not imply that any interface has the same transaction semantics.

First form a reviewable action proposal

Simulate the modification of customer information. The proposal should show the target record, old value, new value and reason, and be submitted to the authorized personnel for confirmation. The model cannot treat requests in external files as user authorization, and target objects must be checked for ownership by the application.

Check the version again when executing

If the record has changed after approval, it should be stopped and reconfirmed to avoid overwriting other people's updates. Each business action has a stable number, and the execution result retains the downstream identifier; after timeout, query first and then decide whether to retry.

Use environmental acceptance without real impact

Test repeated approvals, concurrent modifications, and revocations to confirm that the system gives explainable status. Actions that cannot be automatically rolled back should be clearly prompted and manual correction paths should be designed. This article has not been implemented in the customer system, and does not promise that all external business actions can be safely withdrawn.
