One work reveals two professional roles
The October 12 report on Beijing E-Town's website describes Ding Yi founding Beijing Zhenghuo Shijie Technology and collaborating with Zhou Peng. Their Six-Eared Macaque was selected for the Hundred Flowers Awards–Douyin Future Directors Support Program. Preserve selection for a program; do not call it a Hundred Flowers Award win.
The report distinguishes directing from production's commercial and management roles and mentions advertising and the Cyber Pengge character series. AI production still allows complementary expertise rather than one person holding every responsibility.
Client work and original content begin differently
Client projects respond to a brand's message, intended uses and reasons for buying. Original characters need recognition and story continuity, initially perhaps without a buyer. Production learning can be shared, but time and accounts should remain distinguishable.
Our analysis suggests scheduling and recording resources and opportunities separately. One commissioned collaboration does not validate an original character's market; attention to original work does not prove advertising demand.
Production roles also support continuing communication
Small teams must interpret intent, coordinate partners, consolidate feedback and manage versions. Fragmented communications interrupt creators; commercial leads unaware of production constraints can overpromise.
Both roles need shared understanding of the story, workload-changing requests and approval points. Small headcount does not ensure smooth coordination; clear exchanges make combined expertise usable.
Build creative resources that can be reused
Recurring characters develop consistent appearance, personality, relationships and production files. AI can explore visuals, but the team decides what belongs in the same world rather than a one-off effect. Accumulation reduces restarting from scratch.
Retain asset provenance, contributions and agreed uses. Familiar likenesses still need use confirmation, and client-exclusive material does not automatically become owned character IP. This is management guidance, not a rights determination on the reported projects.
Help the next client understand collaboration
Label portfolios as commissions, personal experiments or joint work, specifying contributions and available services. Prospects may need evidence of relevant expression, communication, constraints and required participants more than view counts.
Staffing at both companies, costs and finances are not fully disclosed. Planned long-form works or AI actors are not already launched products. Follow how two-person collaboration connects client work and original development rather than treating one work's reach as repeatable earnings.
