Scheduling AI Tasks: Keep Local Dates, Time Zones and Execution Records Distinct

The same scheduled task may display different dates when viewed in different regions, and daylight saving time will also change the meaning of some times. This article refers to the Python time zone documentation to discuss the division of labor between business time zone, storage time and interface display, and provides test methods for cross-day and repeated execution. Task settings should retain the user's original intention and cannot just use a time string without time zone information.

Python's zoneinfo supports IANA time zone data. This article discusses general scheduling design. It does not require all projects to use Python, nor does it treat fixed time differences as complete time zone rules.

First determine which region's calendar the task will run according to

Simulate daily sorting of customer reports, record the intention of "every morning at the customer's location" and clarify the time zone. The conversion basis is retained when saving the execution time and display date to prevent the task time from changing when the server location changes.

Use the same comparison standard for cross-day records

Logs can retain a unified time base while displaying business time zones. When comparing the order of two executions, the display strings in different regions are not directly compared. The unique number of the task should also include the business cycle to prevent the same day's results from being generated repeatedly after restarting.

Covers daylight saving time and make-up situations

For regions where daylight saving time exists, test non-existent or recurring local times and clarify the processing strategy. It should also be verified whether the make-up run after shutdown complies with the user agreement. This article provides scheduling methods. The actual rules need to be confirmed based on the scheduler used and business requirements.
