The OWASP Key Management Guide distinguishes between creation, rotation, revocation, and expiration. This article uses it for the simulation arrangement of AI service operation and maintenance. Please check the supplier's documentation for the specific interface.
First list who is using the credentials
Record the application, environment, task leader and credential storage location. Only the identification is saved and the plain text is not recorded. The development and formal environments are separated to prevent test replacement from affecting real customers, and to avoid giving administrator rights to processes that only require inference calls.
Switch verification to cover background tasks
After configuring new credentials within the authorization scope, check that interactive requests, cron tasks, and queue workers have all been updated. Long-running processes may still hold old configurations and should be handled as scheduled releases rather than just refreshing the page.
Check the actual results after undoing
Confirm that the old credentials have been deactivated by the provider, and then observe whether there are still failed calls that need to be located. If an interruption occurs, follow the pre-prepared recovery steps and the old key cannot be shared publicly again. Record the time of the change and the person responsible to avoid leaking credentials in screenshots, chats, and general logs.
