Florence-2: How Task Prompts Shape Image Descriptions and Object Regions

The same picture can be described, literate, or located, but each task requires a different resulting structure. This article focuses on the Florence-2 official model card, explains the relationship between task prompts and subsequent analysis, and discusses how the image database retains area, original images, and manual correction records. The article focuses on usage boundaries and maintenance methods, and does not replace industry-specific identification and acceptance with general demonstrations.

Microsoft's Florence-2 model card provides examples of tasks such as image description, object detection, segmentation, and OCR. This article discusses the task organization of large checkpoints. You should check the current limitations, revisions and dependency requirements of the model card before use.

First decide who will use the results

To organize simulated product pictures, the operator may only need a description, while the annotator needs regional coordinates. The two outputs should not be mixed in the same free text field. The application should verify the structure according to the specific task and retain the original image correspondence.

The regional results are subject to coordinate checking

After the image is scaled or rotated, the coordinates should be converted to the same coordinate system and then checked to see if the boundary covers the target. You can use several manually labeled sample images for regression. When you find an offset, check the preprocessing first instead of just adjusting the prompts.

Model updates and business updates are recorded separately

New product categories, changes in photo shooting methods and model upgrades may cause differences in results. Recording them separately in the version record will help locate the cause. The open source license does not solve the issue of usage rights of the image itself; this article has not completed independent evaluation of the model on products or industry materials.
