F5-TTS official warehouse description code is MIT licensed, and the pre-trained model adopts CC-BY-NC license due to training data reasons. This article focuses on this clear distinction and does not recommend using public weights directly for fee-based delivery.
Experiment records must be able to find specific assets
Simulate speech research, recording code versions, weight names, license files, and reference audio sources respectively. Just writing "using F5-TTS" is not enough to explain what materials were used in the experiment, nor can it support subsequent authorization verification.
When comparing results, the original text and manual evaluation should be retained.
During the audition, check pronunciation, pauses, timbre stability and abnormal sounds separately, and use the same text to compare different settings. Do not infer that generated audio is a substitute for professional dubbing simply because it is natural, nor does the reference audio license automatically extend to all distribution uses.
When switching from research to business, the plan should be reconfirmed
If customers want to pay for use, they need to first obtain a license that matches the specific asset, or switch to models and materials with clear authorization. Technical feasibility and rights conditions should be inspected and accepted separately. This article provides ideas for license identification and experiment management, and is not intended to be a legal conclusion or sound quality assurance for individual projects.
